Equation- Is it right?

 I have read a equation on the way to my home which is: 

8 + 8 = 91

The above equation is correct. But how? Do anybody have the answer?

Answer:

The equation is correct when we view the equation upside down which will reveal the answer as:

16 = 8 + 8.
