There are some chickens and rabbits in a cage. The count is: 144 heads and 400 feet. How many chickens and rabbits are present?

 Answer:

 88 Chickens and 56 Rabbits.

 Solution:

 x+y = 144
2x+4y = 400

 On solving the two equations, we get x and y which denotes the number of chickens and rabbits.
